The 1920s and ‘30s were the heyday of piano duos, both in the U. S. and abroad. Elegant hotels frequently featured duettists; dance bands regularly arranged the rest of the stage instruments around two large grand pianos; and concert halls scheduled duo recitals, both classical and popular. This CD presents over two dozen rare novelty piano duo recordings made in the U.S., the U.K., France, and Australia. Most are being reissued here for the first time. A 16 page booklet is also included with liner notes by renowned novelty piano expert Alex Hassan and many rare
photographs. Recorded 1925-1940. 26 tracks, 78 minutes.
Tracks include: Nola, Kitten on the Keys, Lucky Kentucky, If You Knew Susie.
